Dr. Andre Tam (B.Sc.Hons. D.D.S.)

Dr. Andre Tam has been a dentist in the Waterdown community since 2003. He attended the University of Western Ontario earning his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Cellular Biology in 1996, and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at Western in 2001.

Upon graduating in 2001, Dr. Tam practised in Oakville and Toronto as an associate before settling into the community of Waterdown. He thoroughly enjoys this community and has been a supporter of several local sports teams, local charitable organizations as well as a scholarship fund set up at Waterdown High School.

As a practice philosophy, Dr. Tam believes that patient education on individual health and detailed explanations of treatment options is the key to a happy and healthy smile.  As an extension to this philosophy, Dr. Tam is a regular contributor to the local paper, where he writes a newspaper column to help answer commonly asked dental questions and concerns. He prides himself in creating an atmosphere in his office where his team members enjoy and are proud to come to work. For his patients he has prided himself in creating an office that adheres to the strictest guidelines of infection control as well as a patient relationship built on mutual respect and trust. He understands that a trusting relationship takes much time to build and only seconds to break and so he strives to ensure that his patients understand and are comfortable with treatment recommendations. Every effort is made to ensure your dental experience is positive through his detail and quality of work and his understanding that dental treatment can often be a cause of anxiety.

During his time outside the office, Dr. Tam enjoys travelling and his passion for cooking. One of his favourite past times is trying food from restaurants and attempting to recreate it for his friends and family. He also is an avid golfer and believes that a great day on the golf course is measured by being able to enjoy the serenity and scenery of a golf course and not by his score at the end of the day.
